‘Tribal elder’ Chris started as the third employee at Kolmer Electric Motors alongside Director Frits Kolmer in 1987. The small company of then can no longer be compared to the professional organisation of today. Within Kolmer, Chris has worked in almost all departments. He returned to the Sales Department in 2019 where the work is really to his liking. “I talk with different people every day and I like that variety. It’s a challenge to land new assignments and to support my colleagues in terms of technical knowledge.” Thanks to his many years of experience within Kolmer, Chris is a walking encyclopaedia for his colleagues. He knows the customers and their preferences and is therefore a valuable source of information. Chris is open and straightforward, a genuine guy from Amsterdam who doesn’t beat around the bush. If there’s an issue you’ll know right away.
Chris is a commercial colleague, an accurate and fast-working stickler for detail. When it comes to relationships with customers, honesty is paramount to him. “If you work for an organisation for a longer period of time, you also get to know your contacts well. We’ve had some great customers over the years and it’s great fun maintaining those relationships.” Chris lives within walking distance of Kolmer, in Putten, with his wife and two children. Saturday is sports day; he plays football and is leader/trainer of his son’s team. “Kolmer has always been a good employer. Our director Martijn brought some fresh air to the company and has put some nice changes in motion to make the organisation even more professional.”
