The electric motor brand Cantoni enters the Belgian market via Kolmer Elektromotoren, exclusive distributor for the Benelux, and will be present at Indumation in Kortrijk from 2–4 February.
Here, Cantoni electric motors are presented to Belgian machine builders, OEMs and maintenance companies. More than 20,000 electric motors are kept in stock across the Benelux, ensuring short delivery times, including for specific configurations.
Cantoni was founded in 1878 and was known as Elektrim until the year 2000. After being acquired by the Cantoni family, the company developed into a modern European manufacturer of industrial electric motors. All production takes place in Europe, spread across five manufacturing facilities in Poland.
Cantoni produces electric motors with outputs ranging from 0.04 kW to 7,000 kW, in frame sizes from IEC 56 to 1000. This allows the brand to serve both standard industrial applications and heavy-duty drives for sectors such as process industry, energy, pumps, fans, conveyors and machine building.
For validation and quality assurance, Cantoni operates its own modern test centre, where motors up to 6 MW are electrically and mechanically tested under load.
Cantoni places strong emphasis on the technical performance of its electric motors. In addition to high efficiency — now a basic requirement — the brand is particularly known for its high power factor (cos φ). A high power factor enables more efficient use of electrical power, with reduced reactive current and lower grid losses, especially at higher power levels.
Mechanical design also receives a great deal of attention. Engineers who have visited the production facilities state:

Cantoni goes beyond what is strictly necessary to prevent short circuits, resulting in higher reliability and longer service life. Combined with the strong bearings of equal size on both sides, this provides additional stability and mechanical strength.”
Cantoni electric motors are 100% European-made, from raw materials and components to final assembly. More than 20,000 motors are stocked in the Netherlands and Belgium, supplemented by large inventories elsewhere in Europe. Short logistics lines limit transport distances, resulting in lower CO₂ emissions and short delivery times. As a result, standard motors are often available immediately or at very short notice — a key advantage for maintenance and overhaul applications.
In addition to standard motors, Cantoni supplies customised solutions, brake motors and ATEX-certified versions. Series production takes place in Poland, while single units and fast special builds are assembled in the Netherlands.
