Cantoni Motor, European manufacturer of electric motors and formerly known as Elektrim, is strengthening its focus on the Belgian market. Not from a short term sales perspective, but with a clear focus on building a sustainable market position. Vice President Magdalena Stolze sees this as the start of a long term strategy. “In Belgium, it is all about trust. You do not build that in a single conversation, but step by step.”
According to her, the Indumation trade fair in Belgium confirmed the industrial nature of the market. “What stood out to me was the quality of the visitors. These were not people looking for gadgets, but professionals genuinely interested in technology and solutions.”
According to Magdalena Stolze, technical buyers and engineers primarily focus on reliability and continuity. “They want to know who you are, what you stand for, and that you will still be there tomorrow.”
In addition, reliable delivery and immediate availability are decisive factors. “Fast delivery is not always a given. Many suppliers work with limited stock and depend on lead times.”
In that respect, she sees a clear advantage in the partnership with Kolmer Elektromotoren, exclusive distributor of Cantoni in the Benelux. With more than 20,000 electric motors in stock in the Netherlands and Belgium, combined with in-house modification facilities, motors are quickly available and can be directly adapted to the application. “Customization is our standard. That is what we stand for together.”
According to Magdalena Stolze, Cantoni Motor aligns well with the Belgian industry, where technical requirements and specifications are leading. “They are not looking for a standard product, but for a solution that fits exactly.”
During Indumation, the combination of range and speed stood out in particular. “Visitors were surprised by the breadth of our portfolio, ranging from 0.04 to 7000 kW and from ATEX up to IE4, but above all by how quickly we can deliver and customize. That is what makes the difference.”
For OEMs, the focus is on performance and competitiveness. “If your machine can be delivered faster, operates more reliably and consumes less energy, you immediately gain an advantage in the market.”
According to Magdalena Stolze, the difference is not only about efficiency ratings, but mainly about the effective use of energy. “Our motors have a very high power factor (cos phi). This means less power is lost through reactive power and electricity is therefore used more effectively.”
To explain this in a practical way, Magdalena Stolze uses a familiar comparison:
“You can compare it to a good glass of Belgian beer. The power factor is the ratio between beer and foam. You pay for both, but only the beer delivers value. The less ‘foam’ (reactive power), the better.”
According to her, that reliability starts with the production foundation. “We manufacture 100% in Europe, with five production facilities and a modern test center in Poland. This gives us control over the process, quality and delivery reliability.”
Magdalena Stolze emphasizes that Cantoni Motor is focused on building a sustainable market position in Belgium, not on achieving quick wins. “We are not here for short term success. We are building a position as a reliable motor partner for the long term.”
“Customers who start working with Cantoni Motor experience this in practice.
The first order is often a test. That is when it really starts: proving that you can deliver, think along and be reliable. That is exactly what we work on every day together with our partner Kolmer Elektromotoren.”
